Lerner Helath & Wellness Center

Lerner Health & Wellness Center

The Lerner Health & Wellness Center is an eight-level, multi-million dollar health and wellness facility, which affords students state-of-the-art equipment and programming. The building houses four basketball courts, four racquetball courts, six international squash courts, free weights and cardio equipment, a jogging track, locker rooms, steam and sauna rooms, a pro shop, offices and meeting rooms, as well as underground parking.

The Lerner Health & Wellness Center is home to the GWellness philosophy.  GWellness encompasses GW's holistic approach to fitness and health, whether it means participating in a club sport, taking a group fitness class, or getting involved in one of the many intramural sports offered through Recreational Sports and Fitness Services. GWellness reflects the importance of a well-rounded GW experience. While GW students, faculty, and staff achieve intellectual development, GWellness offers the opportunity to develop a healthy lifestyle.

Students wishing to stay active can also participate in these on-going activities:

Intramural Sports are structured leagues and tournaments offered in the evenings and on weekends. Whether you are looking for a competitive or fun league, intramural sports are for you. From bowling to floor hockey, there is something for everyone.

Club Sports provide opportunities for students, faculty, and staff who desire a more in-depth sports experience than is provided in intramural sports or informal recreation. The focus of the club sports program blends the aspects of learning new skills, practicing regularly with club members, and competing against clubs from other universities.

Outdoor Adventure Trips offer an opportunity to participate in outdoor activities including an annual ski trip to Quebec City, Canada takes place every January.
